Lanaido Hospital is committed to providing the highest level of medical care to their patients. This involves constant change, upgrades, and improvements to ensure that the hospital can meet demands and cater for its growing needs.

Listed below are a number of new projects that the hospital is in the process of undertaking.

Birthing Center
Lanaido first opened its doors on June 21, 1976 with the birth of its first baby in the Maternity Department. Last year, Laniado recorded 7,723 births and the number continues to rise annually.

The annual birth rate that year was 868, but has now risen to nearly 8,000 and the Maternity Department is bursting at the seams. A new $8 million Birthing Center is under construction, the fifth building on the Laniado medical campus but its projected completion date is more than a year away.

The Birthing Center offers the highest level of personalised care. Its services include:

In the meantime, the hospital urgently needs bassinets to house their newborns.

  • Birthing rooms, with separate entrances for accompanying family/friends
  • An operating room within the birthing complex for Caesarean sections, when necessary
  • The option of private services: doctor, personal nurse-midwife, doula (birth support assistant), anesthesiologist
  • The Natural Childbirth Center (which has 2 delivery rooms, is designed to recreate the home environment, to make your delivery as relaxed and stress-free as possible).
  • High-Risk Pregnancy Unit
  • Special Care (premature) Baby and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
